The black stackable washer and dryer are amazing. We had an issue with a rotten onion smell coming from the dryer initially and found out the rubber seal on the door caused it. They came out and replaced it and the smell is gone. No issues and we love our new stacked washer and dryer. One of the things I like most about the washer is that I can still make my own powder laundry detergent to use in the front load.

this is our second speed queen stack. I do say the old model is better and still in use at another location. It had the see-through dryer door.
The new unit also has a winey noise when speeding up and slowing down that the older model didn't do. Hopefully it will be as reliable as the other one.

I took delivery today (08/21/2026) on my brand new Speed Queen SF7008BE stack washer/dryer unit in matte black. It took two men to uncrate it and wrestle it up the back steps on an appliance dolly. Weighing in at a svelte 420 lbs., and standing 78" tall, it's a CHONK compared to the 24" GE FL stack set it replaced.
I had to have cabinet work done in my laundry area to accommodate the extra height of the new set. The set has a 5 year parts and labor warranty. Given it's eye watering price, I'm surprised it didn't have a 7 year warranty on it like the TOL top loading SQ units.
It features no Wi-Fi, no AI, no onboard heater, no automatic (tank style) detergent dispenser, and no infernal "clothes sensing". It just gets right to work! The washer has a myriad of cycles (11) and modifiers, and a "Pet Pro" cycle that vanquishes fleas and their eggs. You can sanitize with an oxy product, and the water is as hot (on the "hot" setting) as your water heater can produce, provided you purge/flush the line prior to starting a hot wash.
The dryer has almost as many (10) matching drying cycles; both automatic and timed, and features several steam cycles including steam sanitize, wrinkle reduce, anti-static. It also has a curious "pet hair removal" cycle to be used on dry but dog hairy blankets (maybe prior to washing?) and such. As the owner of two long-haired dachshunds, it sounds like a good time!
The set stands several inches taller than I am (at 5'8"), and I have to throw clothes "up" and into the dryer! I can't reach the back wall of the dryer drum without a step stool. I have run a maiden load in the washer which is now in the dryer.
This set was an early birthday present to myself; at least that's how I'm justifying the almost 5K expense. Yes, it's up there fully in Miele FL territory price-wise, but I've been there and done that, and wanted to try Speed Queen and see what all the fuss is about!
One or two small "nit picks", now that I've had the set for about a month:
The washer tub isn't shiny (polished?) stainless steel, like other front loader washers I've owned. It's matte (I guess), and doesn't look like "stainless steel" at all. Now, mind you, this is a first world non-problem in any sense. But, for a $5,000.00 MSRP, why doesn't this washer drum "look the part" in addition to acting the part?! The matte, dull washer drum doesn't look "premium" at all. All SQ stainless steel washer drums look like this. If it's a performance/longevity thing, tell your customers this.
While I'm speaking about SQ tubs and drums, why is the dryer drum on the $2,450.00 (if purchased separately) dryer galvanized steel? Why doesn't your TOL dryer feature a stainless steel drum if only for appearances sake, and as a selling point for a (more than) TWO THOUSAND DOLLAR, NON-HEAT PUMP dryer? Again, these are micro nit picks. But appearances do matter to folks who are spending many times what other washer dryer sets cost.
ALSO...
Speed Queen, please fix/enlarge your detergent dispensers! Any product (as little as a tsp.) put in the prewash cup causes an overflow condition resulting in water trickling from the detergent dispenser down the painted front of this washer, which can/does cause rust eventually. I suspect it's from too forceful a water flow into the tiny prewash detergent dispenser cup, thereby overwhelming and flooding it. I have learned to just put prewash detergent/additive into the washer drum directly to bypass the problem. But again, really Speed Queen? This sucker was 5 bills! This is a KNOWN problem with your FL washer.
The dryer is lovely and does what it's supposed to do, galvanized steel drum notwithstanding. You cannot use dryer sheets in any steam enhanced cycle, per the owner's manual. The steam "anti-static" cycle doesn't really prevent static, but it is good for leaving some clothes damp at the end of the cycle. Dryer sheets prevent static much more effectively, I have discovered.

Starting the first week the washer keeps giving an error every couple washes but won't display the secondary error code so we have no idea what is wrong. The gasket near the door in the washer regularly gets socks stuck in it. Disappointed given how expensive the unit is.

We are very impressed with our Speed Queen washer and dryer. It is much more quicker and than our other pervious top load washer and front load dryer Maytag set. The washing capacity may be smaller than the Maytag washer we had but the Speed Queen Washer is able to actually wash it's advertised capacity. That's something we could never say about the Maytag set we had. Also too and most importantly, our clothes come out clean the first time. Very impressed so far.

All of the hype about the brand quality is why I spent $6,000 on this set. Honestly am torn between not just buying a lower priced set. The washer is tiny in size compared to our old Whirlpool. The dryer makes a lot of noise for the first 5 minutes on a brand new machine. The dryer has no good settings to avoid over heating fabrics and melting nylon or synthetic fabrics. The cycle times are so much longer than our old set.

Quiet and Compact Quality Washer-Dryer

The SF7008WE model offers full-size capacity in a compact footprint. Because the SF7008WE is only 27.75" deep, it is able to fit into the tight space in my laundry area. I am a previous Speed Queen customer, so purchasing this model, while very expensive, seemed worth the added costs. After 30 days of use, the unit has performed flawlessly and is very quiet in operation. I have found that Tide pods do not completely dissolve in the washer even when placed directly in the drum before loading laundry. I recommend liquid detergent instead. Looking forward to many years of trouble free use of my SF7008WE.

The unit does leak out of the soap tray, I had to play around with the water pressure to fix it. The door on the washer broke within a few months, it was replaced under warranty.
It preforms great and has an impressive capacity for its footprint.

Yes we paid a lot. But it's probably going to last for my grandchildren. You can't find too many American made products that can do this anymore. I miss the old days where products were made well. I should have gotten a washer and dryer stack that was smaller due to living in a high rise condo. The water hookup in my
Place, was on the right and normally stacks have that cut out above the control panel. This stack does not have that angled cutout so it is extremely tight fitting in my utility closet. It's still a wonderful product with pet hair features and steam settings.
THE ONLY THING THAT WOULD MAKE THIS BETTER IS ONE SIZE SMALLER FOR CONDOS. We need the best company, USA made, to offer a smaller stack feature to cover the condos and apartments in high rises.

Poor warranty service
Steve25
4/18/2025
Out of the box, washer was leaking from soap dispenser. Took many days and phone calls, including from the merchant AJ Madison, before warranty service was scheduled. The serviceman fixed the leak but refused to wait for a quick wash test, and after he left, we discovered that the washer was shaking and very noisy during the spinning and couldn't finish washing due to various errors.
Getting to schedule another warranty service took even more days and calls. The second serviceman said that shaking and load noise was normal because it's a commercial machine; as for fixing the errors he wanted to try replacing control board, which we refused to do because it would not solve the totally unacceptable shaking problem. In the end the merchant sent their man who fixed the washer load noise and shaking by tightening some loose bolts, and the errors were fixed by a local serviceman who properly balanced the machine.
Overall, it took a month to get those problems fixed but at least now the machine works quietly and is fine overall. However, the terrible experience trying to get quality warranty service will linger for a long time...

This machine is sturdy, nice looking, efficient, easy to use, all the functions you could want, and gets the clothes clean every time. Perfect size for our tiny space and has a large capacity for the smaller footprint. The dryer is huge! Gets things dry quickly and isn't very loud. I can wash and dry my queen sized comforter in it! I love this stacked laundry combo. Mine is in black and it goes beautifully with my black stainless kitchen appliances. I can tell a huge difference with the Speed Queen's quality and durability over any other machines I've owned. It's far superior. I'm stoked I went with Speed Queen. I'll never go back to any other brand. Very happy. And I love the longer warranty they gave me. That was a huge selling point.

This is the speed queen we know and love at the lsundrymat. This should last your lifetime. Cleans everything you can throw at it. The spin cycles are just what they are at the laundrymat.. This is pretty quiet but even if it sounded like a herd of elephants, I'd still take it over the quietest brand that is guaranteed to die on you in 3 years.. My clothes come out clean, it doesn't miss anything. The dryer is superfast too....the cycles on the dryer are really longer than you need, I just check them halfway through.

Overall, I am not thrilled with this machine; for the price I expected more. My previous machine was so much better.
It does not clean with cold water. The detergent dispenser is chintzy, hard to read, and difficult to use because it does not come out far enough. The washer seems to pull the pet hair off items well but leaves hair on the rubber portion at the opening. You must try to clean it up (the rubber is very sticky) before taking clothes out so the hair doesn't transfer back on. My previous washer took the hair completely away.
The dryer opening is almost out of reach and you have to 'fish' for items that cannot be seen.

First, I would like to say I wish I knew about SPEED QUEEN 5-10 years ago. This is my 5TH purchase of washer/dryer set, in about 5 years and it is ALWAYS the washing machine that dies/breaks. Second, since purchasing this unit, I have been very pleased, impressed, and happy because I do a bunch of washing dog blankets/bed covers due to the pet sitting business I operate and thus far SPEED QUEEN has been excellent in both washing and drying capabilities. Third, thus far, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND spending the money to buy a SPEED QUEEN product. It is well worth the price and piece of mind knowing you have 5 years or more of warranty coverage!!! Thank you!

Well-built and Made in America!

I love my new SpeedQueen washer/dryer. My old unit gave out after the agitator actually sheared off during a spin cycle! It wasn't even four years old yet! (It was a GE made in China). My appliance repairman recommended that I purchase a Speed Queen unit. This is my first front load washer which I was hesitant to purchase but it was my only choice for a stacked unit. It is solid, well-made, quiet, and wonderful. I love the fact that it is made in America and will probably outlast me (I'm in my late 60s). It uses less water than my top-loader which is a plus in drought stricken California. I love the different options. And the dryer is great for removing my border collie's pet hair. Don't even think of buying anything else but a Speed Queen for your next purchase!

My stackable Washer/Dryer was not installed as I asked and intended. I gave saleswoman dimensions of my laundry closet and asked what I would need for installation. She only told me exhaust tube, not electrical connection for dryer. Sales people need to be trained better on products they sell. Now I cannot find anyone recommended by SQ Support that can change the exhaust to a side vent. I am very dissatisfied with the installation. Doors cannot be closed because stackable unit sits out too far because exhaust was installed in back. Companies that sell your product should be trained and know how to install. If a product is not installed correctly, it is not going to be a happy user. I like the product but could not recommend because of poor service in area.
