I've had this unit for approximately 1 month. I bought it because of it's reliability and longevity reviews. I know that it dries differently from others, but, that is not the issue. On more than one occasion, some of my cutlery did not come clean. And....I far from overload it. So...disappointed in it's cleaning ability so far. I use Finish as recommended, but, maybe need to switch to Cascade? I had a GE Profile before this and never had any....issues with it...except it died after 7 years.

This is my first Bosch. My parents have a similar model and love it so when my old one broke I went for it.
Well it is indeed very quiet, but the dishes often aren't totally cleaned. Glasses in the top rack end up with sediment left and baked into the bottoms and sides, and even bowls on the bottom rack sometimes don't get soup residue washed out completely.
I used to fully load up my old dishwasher and with this one I am afraid to put dishes in consecutive slots because they won't get clean.
I use rinse aid at the factory setting of 5 and have cleaned the filter several times in the few months I've had it, and even took out the spray arm to confirm it isn't clogged, but nothing works reliably and I'mforever rewashing dishes.
Yes the plastics don't get fully dry; I could get used to that. But the constant residue on dishes is very frustrating and tips in FAQs don't help.

I would never recommend it and if it weren't for the expense, I would have it removed and get a different brand.
1. It's too dark inside; hard to see for loading or unloading. Besides, for the first two months, it literally stunk of plastic or road tar or the like - presumably the coating on the racks, but quite offensive.
2. Nice that it's so quiet, but with that, and lack of any kind of dial, I never know what phase of the cycle it's in - when it is finished pumping water in case someone wants to shower or shampoo.
3. The silverware holder is small and cumbersome and the flatware does not always get clean - smudges on knives, food bits stuck to the handles. NO, I am not overloading the bins.
4. Instruction manual inadequate - doesn't explain how to adjust for a different setting - I have not yet figured out how to change wash options, use a different cycle. Inst Manual says press on/off, then select cycle and option - nothing happens. The lights don't stay lit, and it goes with the Auto setting no matter what buttons I push or what options I try to select. A few less electronics and more common sense would help. That whole section on "Adjusting the Settings" makes no sense to me at all and despite many efforts, doesn't change anything. So everything is the default setting.
5. How does it plan to tell me the Finish Rinse Aid needs replacement? I only find out when most of the dishes are still wet and the back and sides of the machine are all but dripping water - even the next day! And I rather resent being told what products to use - I prefer Cascade.
6. What does the blinking red light mean? Instr. Manual doesn't say. I thought I started the machine one night, but in the morning nothing had happened and the red light was blinking.
No, I do not rinse the dishes first - scrape them off as recommended.
Never before have I had to clean a food trap - any other dishwasher has a bit of garbage disposal built in.
I have been back to the store hoping they could answer some questions, but they didn't have one in stock to show me the "choosing options" bit. So I'm using it as little as possible and not at all happy with the product.

I recently bought a Bosch dishwasher, for the fourth time. The first one needed repair earlier than I expected, but the warranty had run out and we decided to replace rather than repair. We got another Bosch because the last one got the dishes clean and was quiet. The fact that it needed repair a bit earlier than expected wasn't a big deal. We lived with Bosch No. 2 for a few years and then sold the house. The condo we bought needed a new dishwasher, so we got a Bosch, again for quiet and good cleaning. We sold the condo and now have a house. In replacing the appliances, we went with Bosch, yet again. I like the way the racks load, and this time around we have the fingerprint-resistant stainless, which is very easy to clean.
