Ruins Clothes

I would give this washer/LG customer service a 0 if I could. Do NOT purchase this washer or anything from LG. I have this washer and its not even two years old. Its literally pulling the threads out of clothes and tearing them apart. LG has come out 3x and cant fix it and keeps asking me to put more clothes in it to continue to get ruined Im talking hundreds of dollars of clothing ruined they are refusing to replace it. They keep giving me and the appliance company the run around and are just hoping I give up. It is also making the loudest alarm like sound when it runs and they wont fix that it either. I am on 2 months of no washer. They dont care and are very rude. Even the appliance people told them its not fixable and instead of replacing it they just refuse to answer emails or calls. Worst customer service ever. So frustrating.

Lots of washing options

I needed to replace my dryer so I decided to buy a matching set. I love the washing machine and all the options available to clean clothes. The drum is large enough to handle my comforter so I dont have to go to the laundromat. I like the top loading option and the glass top so I can see what is going on with the washing cycle

The worst ever

2mo after getting washer it broke on 8/25/24. Warranty dept sets appt for 9/12 from 8am-5pm. Day of appt no tech call by noon I called to find out status. CSR stated they were running late and would call in 30min with an ETA. No call was received at 3:55 I tried calling back with no one answering and an automated message saying my appt was in the past even thought my window was till 5pm. After multiple calls the next day none of the depts would help or provide information and I found out that someone rescheduled me for 10/3/24. That is 6 weeks without a washer. Your customer service warranty depts do not help they claim they cant do anything they wont find a solution and the service tech companies you use are horrible. Even google shows these companies with 1 star ratings. They are not someone you should do business with. The service I have received as well as a new product broken after 2 months is inexcusable. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BE PURCHASING ANYTHING FROM LG. THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

4 Stars despite an in-warranty repair

I bought this LG Washer over a year ago to replace another LG Washer I had for 15 years. My main reason for buying this was the durability of LG washers vs other brands based on my research and prior experience. I rate this machine a 5 Star for its features and satisfaction on its cleaning ability for a top load washer. Sadly I lowered the rating 4 stars as there was a problem that developed luckily prior to the expiration of my warranty. While I had a little bit of trouble getting the in-home repair appointment set up the LG repairman that came to my home was able to quickly diagnose the problem and once the part arrived quickly came back to complete the repair. While the initial quality was disappointing I still believe the long term quality of the LG brand for washing machines are still better than many of its competitors and would consider purchasing another LG product in the near future.

Bought this wash machine feb 11 2024 it broke may 25 started this awful grinding motor noise it still isnt fixed I spent 2600 on this set plus a 5 year warranty.i requested that they replace it but still waiting its been a month and a half since I have been able to wash my clothes The repairman told me they are only designed to last 2 to 4 year at most Well dont buy lg they used to be a good product they are no longer Beware

New LG Washer Knows Better Than You

i had an older LG Washer and Dryer and they were much better than this new generation. I used to be able to do an Express wash for 15 minutes. I was in control. NOW this washing machine decides how long a load of wash will take. I tried putting in a small comforter in on the Speed Wash setting which should take 28 minutes 13 minutes longer than my old washing machines Express wash. This model now decides for itself that it might take up to 1 hour and 34 minutes for a small comforter for example. Thanks AI. Thanks LG. My water and electric bills are higher since buying this new Washer/Dryer set. Also the matching dryer doesnt fully dry a load of clothes either. Do some shopping and compare reviews for other Brands. ALSO when I was on a Chat session with the LG Support Desk the person would NOT dispatch a Service Tech to make sure my machine is working properly. They just had me unplug the machine and turn off the breaker then turn it back on. Really?

Working Well and Its Quiet

So far so good. Previous LG top loader lasted 10 years was still working but loud and there was rust at the top of the machine. Purchased the WT7900HBA on May 27 with some discounts I was able to buy it cheaper than I did my old one 10 years ago. All around quieter and seems to wash better than the old one. Its a breeze to use considering the style looks and cycles all compare to my old machine. A few people here have complained about water left in the soap dispenser. I had the same issue but after trial and error found out the tap cold temperature was the culprit. Now only use cold or warm and have not had the dispenser full of water problem since. Only slight drops of water left after each cycle which is normal. The one thing I will be watching for is rust which is another complaint by some. After each cycle I make sure the metal around the dispenser is dry and I wipe off the top of the tub if needed so fingers crossed wont have amy issues there. All in all happy so far with my new washer. LG is tops in ratings by Consumer Reports for washer and dryers wouldnt use any other brand.

Did the research it was a highly rated washing machine. It worked fine for 2 years now it has started making a loud screeching and sometimes squealing noise. We called LG and they told us that for $350 they could fix whatever the problem is. Repairman came charged $75 couldnt find the problem but said At least its still working Why can we not expect a washer to last 2 years? It should still be under warranty $350 is outrageous considering you can purchase a brand new washer of the same model for $700.00. Why cant manufacturers make products that last and work well-is too much to ask?

PURCHASE DATE: December 17 2022 PRODUCT NUMBER: WT7900HBA I am just not happy with this washing machine... A happy wife is a happy life so I stopped complaining how the clothes were coming out of the machine. I watched my jeans slowly become darker not clean so I went over the instructions and tried loading them differently. No change just doesnt seem to get the job done. The sheets are another issue it does not work on those any better. same thing. I finally called the service department and they sent a man out and he spent almost a hour telling me how the machine works and said there is nothing to be done the water level is not adjustable. So I have called the Manufacturer and talked to them and they told me that I have to go through the warranty procedure. I called the service company and am still waiting for something to happen.

I bought LG washer and dryer 5 years ago. I loved them Huge washer which got everything very clean saved water CA and even washed bedspreads. Dryer was the same. Then we had a fire. I was so happy to find almost the exact same washer and dryer These are excellent products. Ive never had trouble with them.

I did some research on washing machines and LG was one of the best in the industry so I pulled the trigger. I am extremely impressed with this direct drive washer with all the bells and whistles including the WIFI feature and now I can receive alerts when the washer has completed the cycle and no more worries about when the laundry is done and especially limiting the amount of trips I have to take up and down the stairs. It is also a very sleek and good looking machine that definitely gets the job done

I have owned this washer for less than 6 months and it has scratches all over the top of it. The silver/chrome band on the lid is made of PLASTIC and is also scratched from use by 2 adults in our household. ABC Warehouse will not help and told us to call LG. LG will not replace repair or discount this washer for us. The warranty does not cover cosmetic damage. I would think that a new washer would look as good as my old washer of 13 years. Terrible quality and awful customer service.

I had hoped given then price especially that this washer would be better. A blanket with sheets will error out and it tries to repeat cycles or something to get past it but then just fails. I was able to rearrange to blanket to the top to finally get it through spin. 4 bed pillow cause it to end the cycle with 3 inches of water on the bottom and soaked pillow. I rearranged and put it through spin again and got enough water out. Clothes with some dried on food from cooking earlier in the week came out still dirty. This technology is not ready for prime time but the price sure is.

Too hard on clothes

This washing machine is very hard on the clothes. Although it cleans well but it can cause serious damage to most clothes. I had pieces with holes and rips. The spin speed is way too high and it always cause the clothes to wrinkle even when using the delicate cycle. Adding more water can slightly help but in general it is too hard. Asked for help several times and finally after months of trying there was nothing to do about it.

Stay away from this model. I am otherwise a big fan of LG products. I replaced an older LG top load that was far better. I have read the instructions and tried all sorts of tips but the machine makes a loud banging noise both during the rinse and spin cycles. It doesnt matter what Im washing or what cycle I choose. I raised the issue to LG and they sent me a text message with a bunch of tips that I had already tried. I am very disappointed and will end up replacing way too soon. Totally unacceptable at this price point.

I purchased this washer as part of a Costco washer and dryer package in June 2022. It started making weird noises during the cycle in November of 2023 and within 2 weeks it completely stopped working. Luckily I had the extended warranty from Costco but it took 5 different service visits and 2 technicians over 3 months for my unit to finally be replaced by LG.

Disappointing Experience with LG Washer

I hate this washing machine. I am in a perpetual battle of wits with it to get it to use enough water to even WET the clothes let alone get them clean. I have to turn it off and on again several times and then it may add a bit more water but sometimes I just give up and just fill a bucket to add more water. Also theres no filter or screen to filter the water as its washing like there was on the old agitator types so it doesnt get rid of animal hair. I thought I was buying the best washing machine but its really the worst Ive ever seen.

Sadly I cannot recommend this washer. It has a fatal flaw. The top of the housing is not properly manufactured. It is rusting away after only three years of use. The primary failure is when the water dispenses into the laundry tub. Rust can be found under the top in several other areas as well. None of this is visible until its too late to resolve. I called LG to notify them on 2 occasions with the hope that they would replace the top. In both cases they refused to provide a solution. I requested escalation and was refused. It doesnt appear that LG understands the need to properly coat the underside of the top of their machine to harden it against the interaction of water inside the tub area of the washing machine. Thats where it gets ridiculous because that environment is always subject to water. so regardless of all the qualities of the washer in mechanical function cant survive long enough for those benefits to provide value considering it costs over $900 and after three years I should probably throw it away.

Unfortunately it has not worked since I hooked it up. I am a licensed plumber in Massachusetts. I was hospitalized for hip surgery. Complications kept me down. By the time my wife and I got to Best Buy in Brockton Ma we were told Sorry..you are over your 15 day warranty nothing we can do. No sympathy for my hospital stay or after care. Now it is going to cost me to fix a washer we barely used. My wife used the laundromat. Did not want to worry me. We were never told before we purchased tha the appliances could be refurbished and put back on the floor. This info was Never told to us before we purchased.

DO NOT BUY. This washer makes a high frequency noise and you will be told its the motor. I have contacted LG where I was met with poor customer service who came out to my home and sassed me about how this is the motor and I should face it. This noise is horrible and extremely high frequency while the agitator is running. You will hear it for the entirety of the cycle. Buyers be warned that not only is the product poor but customer service for LG is as well. I am extremely dissatisfied on a washer that retails for this price point. Save your money dont buy it.

No Contest - This Is The One To Get

Research showed that LG had the best reliability record and LG washers were readily available in our area. So that was a no-brainer. We wanted a top loader because the wife was tired of cleaning the front-loader gasket that still got moldy. The bigger drum was also a bonus. We settled on this top-of-the-line model because it had additional knob-available wash cycle settings that the wife wanted to use instead of having to use the flat panel option buttons which my wife cannot use because she is blind. Wash cycles are fast thanks to TurboWash. The clothes are handled gently by the impeller and little water is needed making for a very efficient wash cycle. The machine is quiet vibrates very little on spin. The drum is large enough huge for comforters. We appreciate this washer as if it was a new car.

After two years and four months the washing machine drum makes noise like a bearing is going out. Plus when opening to door it make a noise that sounds like glass breaking. I bought my washer in September. By the end of October the tub had a manufacturer defect. It destroyed over $800 of my work clothes.
