Great fridge, terrible ice maker

we purchased this fridge at the end of 2019. we were so happy with it. the space is wonderful, the flexible freezer/fridge spaces are great, and it looks beautiful as others have mentioned. but we started having issues with the ice maker within the first year. we chocked it up to user error, but it has continued to be a consistent problem over the last two years. we've just stopped using ice all together. unfortunately we didn't contact samsung, so we are past our warranty. lesson learned in the future - contact the manufacturer right away! it's unfortunate, it really is a nice fridge besides the ice maker.

i wish i listened bad reviews and spent my money somewhere else. except the look and flex option, i do not see any advantage of this fridge.
it is not fingerprint proof and it is really easy to make scratches and dents. we have this fridge for almost 6 months and i wish i spent my money on some other model.

the frig itself is awesome, the ice maker is very poorly designed. the ice maker makes clumps of ice, and when this happens, there is not enough room over the edge where dispensing for the ice to dump into the tray. therefore, it gets stuck and creates a log jam of ice. you either have to chip it out with a long screwdriver or use a blow dryer to melt it out. very disappointing. i am not writing this to bag on samsung, i love their products, i am writing to make sure everyone is aware of an issue. samsung is also working with me to fix the problem. i hope it works.

we love the four doors and the fact that you can change the right lower compartment to be a freezer or part of the refrigerator. last year, we started having problem with the ice machine! it keeps freezing over, the only way to fix it is with a hair dryer. we have to melt all the ice for about 30 minutes at least once a month. also, if one person fills a water bottle, they will get cold water were as the next person will get warm. i want to give this more stars but the ice machine issues is frustrating.

this is our second unit, three years later i am constantly playing the "defrost the ice maker" to keep it somewhat functioning. to make matters that much worse, the alarm started to go off today to alert us to the fact that the refrigerator is no longer cooling and the lights are no longer functioning.
i made a call into having it serviced, and will have to wait a full month before a service tech can come out and just look at it!
for such an expensive piece of equipment, it sure is disappointing!

This is my second one of this model. The first lasted 3 years until the sealed system failed. I love the unit and its flexibility. Hopefully nothing goes wrong with this one.

The refrigerator has a bold and still refined enough look to stand out but not completely taking over the appearance of the kitchen. Having four separate doors and the ability to keep the refrigerator cooler in different sections adds more flexibility. So far no issues with the refrigerator but we've only had it for a couple of months now. Only suggestion I'd make is get it during a sale or promotion. Full retail price for the refrigerator is kinda of steep to me.

We have had our fridge for a few weeks and I have to say that it is a fantastic fridge. I was a little leery about the ice maker as I had read some bad things about Samsung Ice makers but it seems that the new seals that they have been working just fine. we use a lot of ice so no build-up.
The reason we have this fridge is that we needed to maximize the refrigerator space over the freezer space. we have 2 freezers in the garage so I really just needed a fridge but those are actually more expensive. This fridge allows up to turn one of the lower areas into a fridge and use it for leftovers and drinks. the small freezer area is used for baby foods and things.
you can not believe the amount of space in the top part of the fridge and my son-in-law thinks the showcase door that holds milk butter and eggs is the greatest thing on the planet.
the black stainless is a very nice color

I bought this in June, it was refurbished and now the freezer is not working and Samsung wont honor the warranty because it was worked on before I bought it. Now I have a refrigerator that the freezer dont work. Will never buy another Samsung.

The refrigerator is marvelous. It has great storage, specially for large families. It has the 4-door design, adjustable shelves, ice maker and water in the door. The only problem we have had is with the ice dispenser, the ice producer is slow when all here need ice. The temperature controls work efficiently.

The ice maker has been a problem from day one. A well known problem at samsung i find out later. ice maker compartment is not properly insulated. Therefore the ice is always melting and then refreezing .making it unuseable . Also the temp gage on the door are not accurate at all . Both of these problems are very disappointing.

We bought our Flex over a year ago, and we love it. It has tremendous space in all compartments. We love the external quick open door for pulling items out of the door panel without having to open the larger door. the double wide upper compartment is very handy for large items and there is a ton of space in the many pullout drawers in the lower Freezer compartments. If I had to provide a "Con" for this unit, I would have to include the ice maker capacity. It is a bit small for the size of the Refrigerator. Otherwise, we Love this unit.

I constantly have to defrost the ice maker as ice cubes get stuck in the frost build up and stops making ice. I would rate very high if it wasn't for the ice maker. The ice maker is in the refrigerator. Bad design. Moisture seeps down into the freezer and before to long the freezer pull out drawer is frozen in place. I'm usually a fan of Samsung products but they failed on the ice maker. Wouldn't you know it, this problem started to happen as soon as the warranty expired.

The ice maker worked for a couple of months and then started to freeze over, unable to dispense ice. Have to spend an hour every other week to remove frozen Ice around ice maker. Samsung has not provided any resolution. In addition to the unfixable ice maker, the one feature that we loved about this refrigerator also broke, the showcase door. The top hinge of the show case door came off and accessibility to repair is none. So we now have a great looking refrigerator with a broken ice maker and showcase door. Would not recommend.

I like this refrigerator in general, I do not like flimsy shelves, plastic cracks on the adjustable shelve, replaced it once already. I also had some problems with getting temperature problems, had to call for service, repair was done.

So the good first: We love the four doors and the flex space that could be fridge/freezer. Tons of space and decent configuration of shelves and storage. Samsung support has been good to work with and took care of our issues.
Cons: The primary issue we had was with the ice maker. It was frosting up and jamming frequently. Fortunately this happened within the warranty period where Samsung took care of it. Haven't had issues since they replaced the whole ice-maker unit. However, the ice comes out very slowly compared to refrigerators I've had in the past.
I wish the shelves on the door were adjustable. They are where they are.
The doors ding very easily. Don't look at it too hard. I hope they sell replacement panels. And they are far from fingerprint resistant, though they do clean fairly easily.
Overall, it was a good looking fridge before the dings. Now that's all I see. And honestly, expected better quality and less problems for the price.

We have had our FlexZone refrigerator for a few years now. We LOVE it! We actually had a major issue with the ice maker and were just a bit past our warranty end date. Samsung worked with us and got the issue fixed at no charge to us! Not only is the refrigerator roomy and impressive, Samsung's customer service is also outstanding! I give this product my highest recommendation!

Since day 1, the ice maker freezes up about every 3 weeks and I have to defrost it with a hair dryer but thats if the ice drawer comes out without getting hung up on the ice accumulated on the maker. Ice drawer is cracked because of this. Looking into joining the class action suit.
Showcase door is a nice feature as is the cooling system. But that ice maker issue just ruins it for me.

We upgraded all of our appliances after our dishwasher started having issues. We liked the look and functionality of the Samsung family as a whole. We went with the black stainless finish. The FlexZone is nice for us since we don't have a need for a ton of freezer space. The only thing I wish it had was better ice storage and accessibility. It's a little cumbersome to remove the ice holder when large amounts of ice are needed.

I love this fridge! You can use one of the freezers as storage to store beverages. The drawers in the freezers is a great feature to organize things more efficiently. My only complaint is that I have to defrost the ice maker every 3 - 4 months for it to work properly.

their techs can't fix or diagnose anything! had them come out 5x, once they replaced ice maker. independent repair came out and said these refrigerators are all a problem with ice makers.
